Area 8 Juniors shine at Nationals

Area 8 was well represented at the recent nationals, with a good number of shooters walking away with match awards. Of particular notice was the fine showing by three of our Area 8 juniors.

Brad Balsley (PA) was the highest scoring Open Master, placing tenth overall (85%). BJ Norris (VA) was the highest scoring Open A shooter, placing twelfth overall (83%). Bryan Jones (NJ) earned Third Open A, placing thirty-seventh overall (76%).

Adding to those fine placements were some remarkable stage showings: BJ's Stage 16 win, Brad's and BJ's first place tie on Stage 17 (the Standards), and Bryan's Stage 13 second place tie, all over current two-time defending
World Champion Eric Grauffel of France who was the Open Division match winner.

All three young men are potential members of the USPSA Junior Team which will represent us at the 2005 World Shoot in Ecuador.

USPSA Board meetings opened to membership.

The USPSA Board of Directors has unanimously agreed to establish a policy that current USPSA members may attend in-person BOD meetings as observers, subject to space available, provided that 14-days advance notice is given to the USPSA office and attendance at the meeting will not increase expenses to USPSA. This means that the Board will welcome observers that fit into the meeting room, but will not rent larger space if demand exceeds the number of available seats.

Should you be interested in attending, please make your request to Dave Thomas (dave@uspsa.org) with a copy of your request to me (area8@uspsa.org).
